Long-Term Conditions Alliance Scotland (LTCAS), an independent Scottish charity funded by the Scottish government, decided to contribute to the European Year 2012 celebrating a national learning and practice exchange conference on active ageing on April 27th in the Scottish Parliament, coinciding with the European Day for Solidarity between Generations.
The event highlighted the benefits of physical activity in promoting healthy ageing and included the showcasing of good practice from a variety of organisations. Objectives for the event were:
LTCAS has published the report "Path to Active Ageing" presenting research evidence and case studies to encourage the sharing of good practice.

It supports 81 self management projects across Scotland, is a strategic partner of the Scottish Government, and supports and strengthens organisations in Scotland who support and represent people with long term conditions, their families and unpaid carers. |
