IASFA conference on Active Ageing



Within the framework of the European Year for Active Ageing, the Portuguese Armed Forces' Institute of Social Action (IASFA), in partnership with the Institute of Social and Political Sciences of the Technical University of Lisbon (UTL-ISCSP), organised the II Social Service Conference on 20 January 2012 under the theme "Active Ageing - The New Paradigm for the Elderly."

The aim of the event was to inform and help to reinforce the importance of coordination among professionals who develop activities and / or research in this area of active ageing. Four panel discussions with international ageing specialists and health professionals focused on the following topics:

  • How to prepare for old age?
  • Active Ageing in elderly dependency
  • Planning involved for Active Ageing
  • Volunteering and Active Ageing
