The National Centre for Health Promotion in Rhineland-Palatinate (LZG) is running a comprehensive informative campaign about dementia since 2004. The campaign aims to raise public awareness about the disease and to improve the overall living conditions of affected families, increasing their participation in social life.
The campaign includes the production and dissemination of information on dementia (brochures, CDs, DVDs), a webpage, lectures and events, workshops and courses. It also includes since 2011 the travelling exhibition "Dementia is different," which shows an optimistic and positive image of seniors with dementia. The pictures have been taken by photographer Michael Hagedorn. To see the towns where it will be in 2013, please click here.
Since 2009 the campaign is part of the Regional Dementia Network, established as a regional service centre to connect everything around the disease.
