Feeding Love

Eight years ago, in a small village in County Nógrád (Hungary) a retired women decided to give a nourishing gift to large families with three or more children. As time passed, an increasing number of seniors and pensioners' clubs decided to join the initiative, which has been named Feeding Love.

Feeding Love volunteers are mostly active grandmothers, who each season prepare and give to large families traditional preserves, pickles, jams and juices made with the fruits and vegetables form their gardens.

Each jar and bottle includes the name of the volunteer grandmother who prepared the gift, making the presents more personal and loving.

On 27 September 2012 large families from the 20th District of Budapest and Salgótarján received more than 1,000 bottles of “packed love", made mainly by elderly women from seven villages.
