At the occasion of the European Year 2012 for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations, AIM, the International Association of Mutual Benefit Societies, has engaged in various ways on healthy ageing.
Besides the participation of AIM in the AGE coalition for the European Year and numerous actions undertaken by members of the association at national level, AIM organised the international conference “Reinventing Healthy Ageing” in Brussels on November 29.
The conference concluded with the adoption of a Declaration on Healthy Ageing entitled "Healthy ageing: time to reinvent, It’s up to everyone", in which AIM members highlight the importance of following issues:
AIM welcomes the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy ageing launched by the European Commission within the framework of the Europe 2020 initiative.
The association also welcomes the overall goal to enable citizens to live longer independently in good health by increasing the average number of healthy life years by two.
