The European Commission is looking for highly-talented economists specialised in financial, industrial or macro-economics. You should have at least six years' professional experience and a strong academic background, in any of these three fields.
For financial and macro-economics your focus will be on multilateral and country surveillance and on policy analysis and design. For industrial economics you will need experience in implementation of EU competition policy.
Not only will you be helping to safeguard financial stability for 500 million citizens, you will also take part in shaping Europe's economic future. This means getting your hands on some of the most challenging issues and the most rewarding opportunities out there.

We are based mainly in Brussels and Luxembourg, but our work extends throughout Europe and the world. To work for the European Commission you need to be a European citizen and have a thorough knowledge of one of the official languages of the EU plus a satisfactory knowledge of English, French or German.
