English-language translators

Don't just translate words. Translate ideas.

The European Institutions are looking for English-language translators.

World-class translators are central to everything we do. The language services of the European Institutions have a crucial role to play in strengthening communication and helping citizens understand the role of the EU in their everyday lives. Working to strict deadlines, they translate political, legal, financial, scientific and technical texts and provide wide-ranging linguistic advice.

Are you looking for intellectually challenging work with a high degree of sensitivity and responsibility? Are you trained as a translator or able to demonstrate excellent translation skills? Do you have degree-level education, a perfect command of English and a thorough knowledge of at least two other EU languages, one of which is French or German? Then read on to find out how you can build an EU translator career.

Open for applications on: 11 July 2013
Deadline for applications: 13 August 2013, 12.00 (Brussels time)

Zeta

"I enjoy learning about the different countries through the documents I translate and, of course, working in a multicultural/multilingual environment.
