The Economic Policy Committee and its working groups prepare the agenda for the monthly ECOFIN meetings in the area of structural reforms.
They are officials, experts, and economists from finance and economics affairs ministries in the 27 Member States of the European Union, the ECB and the European Commission. Every Member State sends two delegates to the meetings in Brussels.
It normally meets once a month, usually a week and a half beore the ECOFIN meeting.
One EPC member is elected as President every two years, and he/she is assisted by three Vice-Presidents.
The meetings of the EPC and its working groups are confidential. However, reports or opinions prepared by the Committee are in principle publicly available.
