What: Let your imagination run wild and build your own story! We are looking for an imaginative and exciting story. No need for a grammar exercise but it needs to be clear and comprehensible! Three winners selected by a jury will win 1500, 1000 and 500 euro respectively and the overall winning storyboard will be made into a video!
Who: Citizens aged 18 and over from any EU Member State as well as Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. If under the age of 18, a parent or a legal guardian must sign the entry form
What: We want to hear (and see!) how EU investments are being used where you are and celebrate projects that are making a real difference to local communities. To enter the competition, all you need to do is take a photo of a project receiving EU funding you know or have seen.
You can win €1 000 to spend on digital camera equipment and a trip for two to Brussels in October 2014.
Who: Citizens living in a EU country (over 18 years old)
What: The Access City Award is an innovative competition between European cities which aims to promote accessibility in the urban environment for persons with disabilities and raise awareness of accessibility initiatives in other cities across Europe. The annual prize recognises and celebrates those cities which proactively support and take exemplary steps to improve accessibility for disabled and older people to public areas such as housing, children's play areas, public transport or communication technologies.
Who: All EU cities of over 50 000 inhabitants. In Member States with less than two of such cities, urban areas composed of two or more towns may also participate if their combined population exceeds 50,000 inhabitants.
What: The 2014 ECA Award is addressed to European academics for their theses in the fields of theoretical and/or empirical studies related to public sector auditing, in particular within a European Union context. The winner(s) will be awarded a prize of 5.000 euros.
Who: The award is open to all postgraduates, who have written a Master’s thesis or a PhD thesis. The examination must have taken place on or after 1st January 2011. Candidates eligible for applying for this ECA Award are to be nationals of the European Union or to have completed a thesis at a university of the European Union.
What: Photo contest! Science is all around us. From quirky phenomena to stunning science in action, we want to see what’s grabbing your attention. Take your camera now and win a trip to Warsaw (Poland) to attend the European Union Contest for Young Scientists or a trip to Ispra (Italy) to visit the Joint Research Centre! Monthly competition - submit your photo between the 1st and 15th day of each month.
Who: Team of three people with at least two girl members (citizens and residents of one of the 28 European Union Member States between the ages of 13 and 18)
