The European Union Youth Orchestra in Malta | Valletta (Malta)

Considered one of the world’s most prestigious orchestras, the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) is an official European Union artistic body aimed at serving as a European cultural ambassador. It is funded centrally by the EU and by a number of EU Member States. The Orchestra, made up of young musicians from all EU countries, is an important platform for young European musicians to further their careers within a context of training and professional development, working with world-renowned conductors and musicians. Currently two Maltese violinists form part of the EUYO. The first ever concert by the Orchestra in Malta will be held on August 8, at 9pm in Pjazza Teatru Rjal, Valletta, to celebrate the European Year of Citizens 2013. This event will be organized as part of the Malta Arts Festival, in collaboration with V.18, and supported by the MCCA and by the European Union under the Management Partnership between MEUSAC and the European Commission.
