To mark the European Year of Citizens 2013, Government Office for Cooperation with NGOs in the Republic of Croatia, as a National Contact Point for Europe for Citizens Programme, and the Croatian Alliance of the European Year of Citizens 2013 are organizing debates on Citizens' Participation in Decision Making Process during this year on the cross-county level.
First debate on Citizens' Participation in Decision Making Process will take place in Vukovar (Town Museum) on 23 April 2013, starting at 9.00 a.m.
Aim of the debate is to encourage citizens' active participation in the decision making process on local, national and EU level and thus to identify issues on the local and national level.
Representatives of the local authorities and civil society organizations as well as citizens from the Vukovar-Srijem county are invited to take part in the debate.
Upon completion of the debate, a workshop will be carried out for potential applicants within the Europe for Citizens Programme, which supports a wide range of activities and organizations promoting active European citizenship.
Furthermore, debates/workshops are also planned for May and October 2013. All necessary information will be published on the web-site of the Government Office for Cooperation with NGOs and on the official web-site of the European Year of Citizens 2013.
