2013 marks the 40th anniversary of Irish accession to the EU. This anniversary coincides with Ireland’s 7th rotation as President of the Council of the EU and with the designation of 2013 as the European Year of Citizens.
In light of successful launch of the Year of Citizens by the Taoiseach, Tánaiste and President Barroso in Dublin on January 10th, and to follow on from the Citizens’ Dialogue event which took place with Vice-President of the European Commission, Ms Viviane Reding & Minister of State for European Affairs, Lucinda Creighton TD, European Movement Ireland are pleased to invite you to participate in a forthcoming lunchtime dialogue in Cork. This dialogue invites citizens from Cork and the surrounding areas to engage in open and frank discussions with high-level political and economic figures, as well as local business leaders and EU representatives. This event will feature short presentations from the panel of speakers, including the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Eamon Gilmore TD. The floor will then be open to members of the audience to ask questions, raise topics of discussion and voice their issues.
