1.28.1. Set of European Union priorities for the 62nd General Assembly of the United Nations.
Adopted by the Council on 17 June. The Council approved a set of EU priorities for the 62nd General Assembly of the United Nations that will start in New York in September. Those priorities are:
reform of the UN system;
peacekeeping;
peace-building architecture;
human rights;
system-wide coherence of the UN's operational activities;
rule of law;
international justice;
responsibility to protect;
development and the fight against poverty;
environment/climate change and global warning;
fight against terrorism;
disarmament, arms control and non-proliferation;
regional organisations;
UN budget.
