1.11.2. Report from the Commission - Report on Competition Policy 2006.

Adopted on 25 June. The first section of the 2006 Report on Competition Policy provides an overview of how the instruments of competition policy, namely the antitrust, merger and state aid rules, were further developed and applied in general. The second section discusses how the mix of these and other instruments was used in selected priority sectors to pursue the aims of competition policy. The third section gives an overview of cooperation within the European competition network and with national courts. In section four, international activities are discussed. In section five, a brief description of interinstitutional cooperation is given.
