1.4.47. Proposal for a European Parliament and Council directive on summer-time arrangements.

Endorsed by Parliament (first reading) on 12 December, subject to amendments concerning the wording and technical points.

Approved by the Council on 20 December. The objective of the future directive, which has now been approved by both institutions and will apply with effect from 2002, is to renew the summer-time arrangements for an unspecified period and set the last Sunday in March and the last Sunday in October as the fixed dates.
