For the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, an exhibition named “£ira Italiana, moneta €uropea”, will be held in the rooms of the Museo Numismatico della Zecca, located inside the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
The exhibition will include the Italian Euro coins and the Lira and Euro coins issued by the Italian Republic in order to celebrate some particular European events.
The original plaster moulds, realized by the artists of the Italian Zecca, will be also displayed, as well as the bronze moulds used to create the coinage, demonstrating the creative component behind the process.
These materials are usually kept in the caveaux of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and people hardly ever have the chance to see them.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on 24th and 25th March 2007.
